DutiesMajor duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Monitors, interprets and analyzes data available through VOR, WATRS, ASPEN, VBMS, PA&I, VACOLS, DOOR, VATAS and other systems to validate correct reporting to uncover problem areas and to suggest improvements in managerial effectiveness. Independently identifies and performs special studies needed to assure compliance with directives, quality standards, effective personnel utilization and supervisory control.
- Prepares production reports using data available through the systems listed above for the purpose of analyzing trends which could lead to out-of-control situations affecting the division and/or Regional Office as a whole.
- Prepares reports, Systematic Analyses of Operations (SAOs), weekly workload reports, and administrative tracking systems, etc. for submission to higher-level internal and external management, including Director's Office, Districts, and VA Central Office.
- Prepares and interprets the statistical data for Quarterly Management briefings, Site Visits, Trip Packs, and other reports.
- Modifies established computer programs to provide management information, such as Division and individual production statistics, and workload reports and develops means for collecting data, not currently available but necessary for program operations management.
- Plans, reviews, and analyzes program studies performed by the division. Participates in Central Office surveys and studies to evaluate systems and standards of operations. Coordinates the reports control system to ensure complete, accurate and timely submission of all reports, and the review of records management system to validate that the resources are handled appropriately.
- Performs studies and analyses of management functions to improve management of the division, budget, and day-to-day operations, including functions of any special missions associated with the Veterans Service Center. Coordinates and schedules the review of policies and directives to ensure their accuracy, conformity and currency.
- Coordinates and prepares responses to requests for input such as workload and staffing projections. Develops and writes reports for the VSCM and AVSCM, including recommendations for improvements to ensure effective operations within cost restrictions.
- Functions as a liaison between the VSCM and other positions through the Regional Office and external stakeholders, coordinating and facilitating initiatives involving inter-team cooperation and consistency of reporting.
- Communicates policies and procedures to the VSC staff with guidance of VSCM/AVSCMs and shares information with stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure understanding of VSC priorities and goals.
