Job Description
CDM Smith is one of the world’s top design, program management (PGM) and construction management (CM) firms, providing innovative and creative solutions for our clients and assisting them in achieving successful outcomes on their most important water, infrastructure, environmental and transportation programs. We currently provide owner agent services around the world with over 400 working full-time professionals who use world-class program controls, processes, and tools.
The Regional Team Leader is responsible for supervising a team of employees and provides mentoring, training, and leadership to inspire the team to achieve their optimal performance. In addition, the Regional Team Leader will work on various projects in a construction or program management role for approximately 60-70% of their time.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide strong leadership to help drive a strong culture and foster engagement while supporting the firm’s vision framework.
- Retain our best and brightest and support your employees’ career journey.
- Actively participate in your team members’ career paths, including identifying and completing appropriate training, achieving professional registration/certification, and assigning challenging projects.
- Select suitable mentors for your employees as part of the Career Compass Program.
- Celebrate team members at important milestones (i.e., work anniversaries, promotions, professional registration, etc.)
- Conduct timely and effective annual performance appraisals, coordinating with technical mentors, project managers, Technical Delivery Managers (TDM), and others.
- Leverage your team’s participation in the Community of Practice.
- Recruit, interview, and hire new employees to support project workload and overall firm growth.
- Create a culture of personal ownership for quality of work product.
- Coordinate workload within the Program Services Group and utilization goals for the individuals on your team.
- Manage the team’s financial performance to include utilization, direct labor, and profitability.
- Deliver appropriate sales support, as coordinated with the TDM and Discipline Leaders.
- Approve time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner/ensure team members complete all company required training on time.
- Ensure your team members are compliant with CDM Smith’s QMP and Health & Safety procedures for project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 12 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
