Job Description
*** This position can be based in our Raleigh or Charlotte office***
CDM Smith currently has a new opportunity for a Client Service Leader within our South Transportation Group to help sustain, diversify and grow our transportation practice in North Carolina. In this position, you will work with a dynamic team to continue building our transportation business. You will lead the development of a business strategy to increase sales with our existing clients and developing new clients in North Carolina. This will include all aspects of transportation planning, roadway/bridge design, traffic engineering, and construction inspection services. This position leads the business development activities for select clients in the NC region, oversees overall client service, representing CDM Smith in professional organizations, and support sales efforts across the greater NC area.
The key responsibilities for this role are to:
• Market and mine existing on-call design engineering contracts we currently hold with the Western and Eastern Divisions of NCDOT
• Partner with local project managers to execute on-call task orders expeditiously and to the client’s satisfaction
• Support the on-going recovery efforts from the recent impacts from Hurricane Helene through client relationships, teaming opportunities, and on-call contracts
• Increase brand awareness across NCDOT and other NC-based clients (Counties, Metropolitan Planning Organizations)
• Participate in consulting engineering industry events, training programs, and conferences
• Develop strategic growth plans for the North Carolina market and lead local Client Service Team to implement those growth plans
• Cross-market with locally based water-focused CSLs to increase our transportation services footprint in North Carolina
• Support mentoring of local staff in the preparation and delivery of roadway design plans to the specs of NCDOT
• Encourage collaboration and staff work sharing across regional offices together with the locally based Project Management and Commercial Leader and Regional Team Leader for roadway design
• Participate in consulting engineering industry events, training programs, and conferences
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
