PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Works in departments and branches of Cornerstone Financial Credit Union as directed by Regional Branch Operations Manager. Provides superior and quality member service in a friendly, professional manner in person, by phone, and through all correspondence. Assists members and helps in managing the branch including employee development, sales, security, and day-to-day operations. Ensures that staff adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. Supervises staff to ensure the delivery of quality service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates flexibility to work at assigned branch or department with an understanding the schedule is subject to change daily. In conjunction with the Regional Branch Operations Manager, provides direction and leadership to branch employees with emphasis on staff supervision, sales and service goals, superior customer service skills, teamwork, and error retention.
- Performs routine member transactions, including, but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, and wire transfers
- Conducts appropriate personnel actions in conjunction with the Regional Operations Manager or Branch Manager where assigned.
- Assists Retail Management in developing a staff capable of meeting current and future operating needs through selection, assessment, training, and coaching.
- Coordinates sales and service strategies with Regional Branch Operations Manager or Branch Manager where assigned; directly monitors customer retention, customer callbacks, and customer service.
- Facilitates branch staff meetings to recognize team successes, changes to products, systems, policies, and procedures.
- Assists with opening and closing of branch and overall security.
- Processes loan applications based upon approved authority, open new accounts, perform all teller functions as needed.
- Understands and provides operational oversight to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and practices pertaining to transactions and services provided by staff.
- May be required to report to branches/departments outside standard market if needed.
- Performs other duties as requested.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education
- High school diploma required. Prefer business school or related post-high school training.
Experience
- Minimum two years financial institution experience in teller or customer service related work. Two years of lending experience preferred. Must have proven managerial skills, which include the ability to lead and motivate employees, efficiently handle cash, work under pressure, and handle detailed activities.
Physical, Mental, and Visual Requirements:
- The responsibilities of this position are divided into several areas in each branch office location. The Management Trainee must be able to move freely from one area to another as needed. Excellent visual, audio, and manual dexterity skills are needed, as the physical aspects of the work range from the use of a computer to handling coins and currency. The position also requires a great deal of time on the telephone and the ability to function in an environment of occasional high stress.
