Some of what you'll be doing:
As a Manager of Accounts Payable, you will provide strategic direction and leadership for Port of Seattle’s Accounts Payable and Credit Card Administration team to ensure annual payment obligations are processed accurately and timely in compliance with vendors’ contractual terms, Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Port of Seattle’s policies and procedures. You will manage risk identification and mitigation in disbursement of public funds by enforcing operational internal controls, legal and regulatory requirements.
+ You will manage, evaluate, and develop accounts payable team to ensure Port’s financial obligations are processed timely and accurately, including check disbursements, electronic ACH payments, reconciliation of vendor payments, employee expense reimbursements, and administration of Port of Seattle Corporate credit card program.
+ You will oversee Port’s automated invoice submittal and approval system to ensure payment requests are properly documented, authorized, and paid in accordance with Port polices and vendor contractual terms.
+ You will establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers to manage requests, ensure quality service, and resolve potential issues.
+ You will monitor the Accounts Payable disbursement process and work with Port employees, vendors and other outside parties to resolve payment-related issues.
+ You will work with Business Technology team to resolve technical issues and develop test plans during system upgrades, enhancements, and manage delivery of system training.
+ You will ensure Procurement-card and Travel Card accounting information is posted and reconciled into the Port’s financial systems accurately and timely for month-end close.
+ You will identify process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies and productivity, increase quality of service, and support positive union, manager, and employee relationships.
Who you are:
+ Experienced – You have five (5) years of experience in accounting operations and systems including accounts payable and related reporting, to include two (2) years of supervisory, leading, or mentoring experience, including leading a project or program related to accounting operations, systems, and/or financial reporting.
+ Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration.

What else you need to know:
+ Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work during emergencies.
+ Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
+ Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
