A Brief Overview
The Booking Manager will support the talent buyer and manage the talent buyer assistant with the booking of events and shows. The Booking Manager will coordinate show information between agencies and ticketing, marketing, and production departments, and focus on details and consistency. The booking manager will also reveiw and approve contracts and settlements & approve vendor and artists payments. The incumbent will settle shows, oversee the settlement of shows outside AEG-owned clubs, and prepare settlements internally for the accounting department.
What you will do
- Review and approve contracts and settlements. Approve payments for various vendors and artist payments.
- Draft offers for artists and venues based on projected ticket sales, and reach out to venues to place calendar holds and coordinate with the availability of an artist. Submit offers to venues and agents. Follow up to ensure that appropriate documents are in order. Assist with ticket pricing, royalties, marketing, budgeting, and catering.
- Assist with the scaling of large arena and amphitheater shows, drawing out seating charts and determining capacities to maximize profit potential.
- Oversee the confirmation of events. Finalize and confirm or correct contractual details and show details with agents.
- Attain consistency in the booking department with offer details, dispersing information to other departments, and settlements. Help talent buyers and talent buyer assistants with disseminating information in a concise, consistent, and organized way, communicating details to different departments, analyzing information, checking details, and thinking critically.
- Assist with larger company projects as needed.
- Be in communication with other departments to discuss issues or changes in processes. May also be involved in marketing meetings to brainstorm and produce creative ideas or ways to increase tickets sales and discuss potential new projects.
- Settle shows, which could involve traveling to venues outside the state. Reconciling settlements from co-promoters when AEG is not running point.
- Support ticketing and marketing teams with administrative tasks such as show detail accuracy reviews. Train talent buyer assistants on office procedures such as show sheets, and approve their work before it’s sent out to staff.
- Train booking department, venue managers, and other settlers on artist settlements and update them on venue and ticketing changes as necessary. Settlement training primarily happens on site at shows.
- Compile all relevant documents for settlement of shows and create pre-settlements to estimate show profit. Schedule settlers for night of show settlements and be available for remote support or covering settlements.
- Check night of show settlements for mistakes before sending to accounting. Update settlements internally with ticket rebates, VIP, premium, and album bundles, and create settlements for and settle with co-promoters and partners.
- Responsible for support and management of booking department on administrative tasks as needed including expense reports, planning travel, and calendar management, and for training the booking department on the new booking platform.
- Other duties as they arise including but not limited to basic administrative tasks, responding to inquiries, covering shows, act as liaison between venue, artist, and AEG. Fielding phone calls and emails to the right department or employee and delegating tasks.
Education Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) In Business, Public Relations, or a related area
Experience Qualifications
- 4-6 years Of related work experience
- Experience with shows settlements and reconciling artist/show settlements
Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly detail oriented, able to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and cultivate relationships.
- Computer savvy and skilled in MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and ability to learn required business systems
- Ability to work independently to perform job, as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to think critically, analyze information, and find mistakes.
- Ability to prioritize work load and meet strict deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter and have ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of the music industry preferred
Pay Scale: $67,000 - $88,430.47.
