We are searching for a motivated & experienced Cost Analyst.  The Manufacturing Cost Analyst will plan, analyze, and communicate the industrial results of the plants producing informative and detailed reports outlining gross margin, efficiencies, plant production, and present key financial information for management view.  This role is responsible for driving deeper financial analysis and business insight across the plant. This position requires a proactive attitude toward business, anticipating operational issues that may affect overall performance of the plant. Strong communication and influencing skills will be necessary due to the frequent interaction with plant leaders.  

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some flexibility in hours.  Availability to travel 1 or 2 times per month to the corporate office, settled in NY.

 Essential responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting (GL plant-related accounts): Consumption of raw materials, direct and indirect labor cost, utilities, maintenance expenses and amortization.
• Inventory control: Month-end inventories and planning and supervision cycle counts.
• Cost accounting: Cost break down of the different products: Standard & Real (Bill of materials, industrial parameters, and industrial rates
• Industrial KPI’s: Strong focus on yields and waste indicators by plant and line.
• Calculates burden rates and sets up expense budgets for the different manufacturing departments.
• Reconciles and researches variance issues, determines causes and coordinates/drives corrections.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

•          4-year degree in accounting or a related business major from a recognized university or equivalent experience in manufacturing environment. 
•          CPA or CMA a plus
•          Proficient Excel skills
•          Ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization is critical.
•          Plant Accounting experience big plus, strong cost accounting skills.
•          Manufacturing background a big plus.
•          Ability to work well with cross-functional teams.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent number of years’ experience, plus
• Five years of accounting and costing experience in a manufacturer.
