The Engineering Manager in QCL will lead a team of engineers to design, implement and maintain Quality Processes for Innovative Medicine. Working closely with the Product Owner (PO) and business partners, this role will help refine the requirements, provide design solutions with alternatives, implement proof of concepts. Our goal is to further automate and connect quality processes and systems like Audit, NC/CAPA, Change Control, Laboratory Systems, Manufacturing, and Complaints to provide insights to continuously improve healthcare.
In this meaningful role, you will coordinate the configuration, customization, integration, and web services development across quality, laboratory, and ERP systems. You will lead engineers on the technical development and implementation of multiple projects to improve quality and delivery of our products, including CAR-T! You will collaborate and align with other technology development teams, so we can align and deliver connected, intelligent solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development projects to meet or exceed established goals. This includes internal J&J Engineers and contracting resources while following approved company policies and procedures.
- Own the effort to detail technical requirements, architecture, technical standards, design, validation and deployment of new solutions as needed
- Gain customer insights through product demos to deliver improved products through continuous delivery processes.
- Ensure the technology team has an established process to train new engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer to support their development.
- Provide impact assessments for changes in scope and guide program leaders by providing various options in terms of resources, time, and budget.
- Collaborate with vendors to enhance products and resources, deliver quality solutions, and run the Technology Roadmap, while also implementing internal tools to improve development through automation.
- Share technical progress and risks with the constituents.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
- Proven track record building and consuming web services and APIs is required and a key part of this role.
- 5 years of hands-on design and owning the development and delivery of software solutions is required.
- 2 years of coding experience in real-world projects in one or more programming languages: Java/Apex/C /C#/.net/PHP/Python
- Proficiency in data modeling, data mapping, and writing SQL or SOQL queries at intermediate level is required.
- Demonstrated ability in evaluating various tools and selecting the optimal software or programmatic design solution to send data across applications.
- Experience refining requirements, detailing system design, and writing unit tests and other technical documents is required.
- Powerful communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Knowledge of quality-related processes such as Audits, NC/CAPA, Complaints, Change Control, Lab Management Systems, and ERP make/manufacturing systems is strongly desired.
- JavaScript, CSS, and HTML experience is strongly preferred.
- Effective leadership of a large development team working globally is preferred.
- Travel may be required initially up to 25% of the year for workshops, including global locations.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $99,000- $170,200
• The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

o Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
