The Manager, Epic Applications role provides management/oversight for Application Systems Analysis team including project supervision, staffing, development, and all other HR matters. Primary support contact for ACP Clinical, Revenue Cycle or Business Applications. Serves as the escalation point for all project related issues. Manages major and minor enhancements and projects. Provides oversight relative to gathering specifications, conducting research, software development, testing and providing user support in accordance with ACP’s policies, procedures, and business operations. Reviews application build and testing and provides change control approval to implement projects into production.
Responsibilities:
- Provides management/oversight for direct reports including development and other HR matters. Ensures supply of resources meets work demand and all teams are trained and compliant with standards and best practices.
- Leads strategic initiatives and simultaneous projects (critical enhancements and simultaneous major enhancements and/or simultaneous minor enhancements). Ensures team complies with Enhancement & Project Management best practices.
- Ensures compliance with ITIL (ISO20000) and Core processes for all areas of IT service responsibility. Defines and maintains Service Strategy (Portfolio Management, Strategy Generation, Financial Management & Demand Management), Service Design (Service Level, Documentation, Availability, Capacity, Security & Continuity), Service Transition (Evaluation, Change Management, Transition Planning, Service Testing & Validation, Asset, Configuration Management, Release & Deployment, Knowledge Management), Service Operation (Access Management, Request Fulfillment, Event Management & Incident Management) and Continual Service Improvement (Reporting, Measurement and Process Improvement).
- Oversees/ reviews all testing of new code, templates, scripts, etc., (i.e. new modules, upgrades, product installs) to deliver high-quality end-user solutions and provides production implementation approval.
- Architects, manages, and delivers solution innovation for new services, to improve services or to lower costs, operating under deadlines and challenging project and task workloads.
- Provides project supervision and task oversight for system enhancements assigned to project resources. Communicates clear instructions to project team members, and coaches and mentors team members.
- Solves highly complex problems and develops solutions to tasks or projects which may be unique using judgment and initiative.
- Interfaces with key IT, clinical, business and operations staff to assist in the development of efficient workflows. Analyzes business operations as they relate to build decisions.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and applicable EPIC certifications
- Additional years of applicable work experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Multiple EPIC certifications
- Project management certification
- Previous Work History with Epic Corporation
- Minimum 8 - 10 years’ progressive systems analysis and design experience including 5 – 7 years in-depth EPIC experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience mentoring and leading technical teams
- Expert user - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Visio
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Vast Epic experience in the applicable domain
- Working knowledge of Clinical systems; PACS, Medical Devices, etc.
- Prior experience with PeopleSoft HCM or Finance release 9.2 or higher
- Prior experience with Epic EMR release 2020 or higher
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience and knowledge of common clinical and revenue cycle workflows
