Position Summary:
The Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting will report directly to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and be responsible for the Company’s SEC and external reporting, accounting research and documentation of technical or complex accounting matters as well as monitoring and implementing new account standards. This position will be responsible for the oversight of one to two team members and include training and development of the team. The role will also assist in the support of the Corporate Finance leadership team and be a contact point person for all areas of technical accounting and financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Company’s technical accounting research and memorandums on significant or unusual transactions
- Responsible for the preparation of audited financial statements including financial statement disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and supplemental support for external auditors
- Preparation of all SEC filings, press releases, analyst presentations and various internal presentations and external investor materials
- Require direct interaction with internal and external auditors for financial reporting and technical accounting areas of responsibility
- Prepare or review monthly stock-based compensations, pension, restructuring and non-GAAP calculations and analysis
- Assist with monthly cash flow statement and quarterly equity roll forward
- Oversight and maintenance of the Company’s financial reporting software and XBRL compliance
- Assistance in financial due diligence of acquired companies and financial integration efforts post acquisition including data migration, valuation procedures and purchase accounting
- Work directly with the Senior Manager, External Reporting & Technical Accounting, VP, Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer on various projects as directed on various technical accounting projects
- Assist in ad-hoc request as needed in coordination with FP&A, Treasury and Tax functions
- Expectation to propose and implement process efficiencies and improvements
Education, Experience, Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting; CPA required
- 6+ years of relevant work experience showing progression in areas of responsibilities; Previous supervisory experience required
- Combination of public accounting and corporate industry experience preferred
- Direct experience with multi-national public company consolidations and external reporting
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with SOX-404 and accounting research, technical memos and external financial reporting disclosure requirements required
- The position requires the ability to understand problems, collect & summarize data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- The ability to offer creative ideas for improving business analysis is encouraged and expected
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, prioritize projects and think analytically
- Advanced MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge of Accounting Systems such as JDE, Workiva and Planful (formerly Host Analytics)
