About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Nurse Manager to lead our Flexible Acuity Team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to cultivate a positive work atmosphere that empowers team members.
About the Flexible Acuity Unit (FAU): Our newly renovated, 20-bed ICU stepdown unit serves patients with various conditions, including endocrine, pulmonary, infectious diseases, trauma, and post-procedural needs. This cutting-edge unit is the first nursing department at Beacon to utilize virtual whiteboard technology, featuring Vizabli smart boards in all patient rooms to enhance communication and care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Practice- Facilitate a safe and caring environment for patients and staff.
- Develop processes to assess the delivery of nursing care to patients and families.
- Validate that care provided to patients is consistent and individualized.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of unit-based clinical programs.
- Establish and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage human, fiscal, and other resources to achieve departmental goals.
- Ensure effective utilization of available resources.
- Develop and maintain standards of care and practices.
- Oversee hiring, coaching, counseling, and evaluating staff.
- Prepare and monitor annual operating and capital budgets.
- Promote growth and development of staff.
- Assure staff proficiency in the utilization of all clinical systems.
- Develop programs for continued professional development in nursing.
- Collaborate with HR for recruitment and hiring of appropriate candidates.
- Maintain all unit-required credentialing as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Medical Staff and Hospital Administration for effective utilization management.
- Act as a liaison with non-hospital entities.
- Complete other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
- License: Current Indiana RN license required.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of job-related experience, including one year in a leadership role.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of clinical skills pertinent to the unit of practice.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands effectively.
- Frequent interruptions and multiple demands due to the large scope of responsibility.
- At risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- Requires physical ability and stamina to perform essential functions of the position.
