The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:
The Manager II, Annual Giving is responsible for the Atlanta Community Food Bank's direct response fundraising program, including but not limited to direct mail, web, email, digital, monthly, peer-to-peer, and telemarketing channels. This role leads a team focused on acquiring, cultivating, renewing and upgrading donors under $5,000. The Manager II, Annual Giving works closely with the full Individual Giving team to support the overall donor pipeline strategy, and collaborates closely with the Donor Services, Corporate, Events and Marketing teams. Reports to the Director, Individual Giving and supervises the Individual Giving Manager and the Senior Digital Fundraising Specialist.
What You’ll Do:
Fundraising and Program Management

Manage a robust direct mail program and develop strategies to grow the Food Bank’s individual donor base and annual revenue

Lead annual email fundraising and donor engagement campaigns, including the development of strategy, creative, offer and audience segmentation. Grow the Food Bank’s email database.

Lead telemarketing campaigns to generate net revenue and steward donors.

Oversee design and use of peer-to-peer fundraising platforms to support key Food Bank events, including but not limited to Hunger Walk Run 5K, industry and community-based food and fund drives. Develop communication plans to recruit, register, retain, recognize and equip individual participants, fundraisers and donors.

Ensure integration of mid-level and monthly donor solicitation and stewardship strategy across direct response channels.

Manage external vendor relationships, budgets, deadlines and approvals for direct mail print, digital, and phone campaigns. Research and help select new partners.

Collaborate with Marketing team and other Development staff to align appeals with other organizational communications and ensure effective multi-channel integration.

Measure, analyze and report performance of all fundraising campaigns and assess against goals.

Ensure delivery of meaningful, creative and timely donor stewardship through gift acknowledgment letters, reports, phone calls and other techniques

Identify new opportunities, channels and platforms to grow the Food Bank’s revenue and individual donor base.

Oversee staff members in the planning and execution of donor stewardship events and volunteer days, ensuring these activities are well-coordinated, strategically aligned with organizational goals, and executed in collaboration with other departments. Monitor the success of these initiatives through feedback and performance metrics to enhance donor engagement and volunteer experiences.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Donor Services and Analytics, Marketing and Communication to ensure seamless integration of fundraising initiatives with overall organizational strategy.
Customer Service

Ensure delivery of meaningful, creative and timely donor stewardship through gift acknowledgment letters, reports, phone calls and other techniques in partnership with direct reports, other teams and vendors.

Monitor the Food Bank’s general donation and information inboxes. Maintain personal contact and excellent relationships with donors through timely and polite responses to donor inquiries.
Data Management and Administration:

Work with Donor Services team and other staff to optimize use of database for gift recording, processing, acknowledgement, and reporting purposes

Manage annual budget for direct response fundraising program. Align with overall Individual Giving budget in close coordination with Director, of Individual Giving.

Maintain up-to-date program and operations information as related to fundraising activities

Serve as an active member of the Development team. Contribute to planning and goal setting, revenue generation and the refinement of processes and procedures.

Provide onsite and offsite support for Food Bank events and other activities as needed.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
