Manager, Imaging Center, Full-Time Days

The Radiology Manager will work under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Radiology and will provide specialized qualitative/quantitative reports to the Chair, Vice Chair, Executive Director, Assistant Directors, and other Radiology managerial staff. The position is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing and directing all activities relating to patient care for the General Imaging department. Responsibilities include directing the delivery of quality patient care and technologically advanced imaging in a financially responsible manner through direct collaboration with Assistant Director, area physicians, and other professional and support staff throughout the department and organization.
Essential Job Functions
- Strategic Management: Provides functional leadership for the General Imaging department. Establishes annual and long-term program or service goals, strategies and plans consistent with UCM goals and strategies. Establishes and ensures compliance with exceptional quality and performance standards. Oversees quality planning and management.
- Operations Management: Responsible for General Imaging in multiple locations across Hyde Park campus. Oversight of Lead Technologists’, Technologists, Radiology Tech Assistants, and Imaging Coordinator ensuring that these individuals fulfill pertinent responsibilities. Designs an organizational structure to accomplish the mission and strategy of the department and staffs the structure appropriately with qualified, and competent staff. Ensures full communication of UCM matters. Develops talent in leadership positions. Formulates policies, procedures, and protocols related to General Medical Imaging. Maintains cost-efficient and productive services that meet the high-quality service expectations of the referring physicians and patients of UCM. Identifies operational resource requirements and prepares justification and analysis as required to support the requirements.
- Financial Management: Assumes overall accountability for the financial effectiveness and strategies of the General Imaging department in support of the UCM’s goals. Establishes and monitors cumulative operating budgets to achieve financial performance objectives.
- Human Resources Management: Establishes clear performance expectations and provides timely performance reviews. Holds staff accountable to all UCM policies and procedures. Manages the corrective action process for reporting staff.
- Quality Management: Identifies processes and outcomes which are important for customer satisfaction, technical quality, regulatory compliance, or other institutional priorities. Continually builds interdepartmental/interdisciplinary interactions and initiatives to resolve problems, improve processes, and assure departmental quality outcomes.
- Policies/Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance to all standards of regulatory agencies including, but not limited to the TJC, IDPH, IEMA, ARRT, NMTCB, RDMS, and FDA. Demonstrates knowledge, awareness, and compliance with UCM policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested by senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health care or health-care-related field.
- Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an ambulatory operations or hospital environment.
- State licensure for Illinois (IEMA License)
- Technical certification by ARRT
- Knowledge of ACR accreditation requirements
- Leadership experience
- Proven ability to use a computer for word processing, spreadsheets, data management, and basic data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
- Demonstrated ability to handle large volumes of work expeditiously, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- Achievement in developing, implementing, and maintaining successful customer service programs and improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration, Master of Healthcare Administration, or Master of Science in Nursing
Licenses/Certifications Strongly Preferred
- BCLS
