Position Summary
The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging Services is accountable for the management, delivery and operations of all diagnostic imaging modalities on a 24-hour basis. The Manager of Imaging Services works directly with the Director of Imaging to coordinate daily clinical operations, personnel management, performance improvement activities, budget planning, data management, and capital planning for all assigned sections/modalities, locations and support areas. The Manager of Imagining is responsible for management of all non-technical support staff. The scope of practice includes not only the department of diagnostic imaging but coordination of imaging services throughout the institution as a whole, to provide for both optimum patient care and responsible use of resources.
The Manager of Diagnostic Services provides coordination and continuous development of staffing and human resources throughout the departments. The position includes development, maintenance and coordination of all diagnostic imaging procedures. The Manager maintains and utilizes current knowledge of regulations and professional
standards in imaging. This entails knowledge of human resource management, operational and capital budgeting, and process improvement.
The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging participates in strategic planning for Imaging Services and works to develop and maintain interdisciplinary relationship between all levels of personnel in imaging as well as the institution as a whole. The Manager cooperates and participates in all aspects of delivery of imaging services and management with the Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
The Manager is a positive, effective member of the Radiology/Medical Imaging management team, fostering a customer/patient focused perspective and ensuring a strong commitment to organizational service standards. The individual maintains collaborative multi-disciplinary relationships within and outside of the organization.
The Administrative Director of Medical Imaging reports to the Assistant Administrator, Ambulatory Services. Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates Medical Imaging services based on District and community needs. Works collaboratively with the Medical Director of Medical Imaging, physician staff, Administration and department Directors. Assists in preparing annual departmental budget. Continually assesses District needs for Medical Imaging services and makes recommendations as appropriate. Prepares, revises and maintains departmental Policies and Procedures. Achieves and maintains departmental compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agency(ies) requirements. Excellent communication skills required.
