Description: Our client is currently seeking a Manager - Information Security Investigations
Hybrid in Sacramento, CA
The Information Security Investigations Manager plays a crucial role in evaluating signals, managing cyber incident response programs, and analyzing data within the company. This position is responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all company data while ensuring compliance with privacy laws and best practices. The manager oversees areas such as Privacy, Insider Threat, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, Vulnerability Investigations, and Red/Blue Team activities. They collaborate with IT leaders to create, evaluate, and respond to security signals. Additionally, the manager provides data analysis to IT, business, risk, and privacy teams. The role involves setting up response workflows and data visualizations to proactively address current and future information security risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the information security investigations and analysis team.
- Develop alert requirements, ensuring thorough design, validation, and deployment.
- Recommend effective information security monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Create role-based training plans for analysts and specialized roles.
- Stay informed about state and federal compliance laws related to credit unions.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting skill development and employee morale.
- Monitor threat intelligence channels and collaborate with the vulnerability engineering team.
- Collaborate with other departments to address information security risks.
- Execute monitoring/testing programs to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Oversee a 24x7 Security Operations Center or Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP).
- Evaluate actions taken against alerts, investigations, and reporting.
- Keep management informed through action plans, budgets, and reports.
- Work with external consultants for independent security audits.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Research emerging security investigation strategies.
