About the Job
Overview:
The Manager - IT Operations will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and infrastructure to support our manufacturing processes, and distribution offices. They will lead a team of IT professionals and collaborate closely with other departments to identify technology needs, implement solutions, and optimize IT operations to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities:Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and communication systems.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet the organization's evolving needs.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including helpdesk administrators, collaborate with manufacturing engineers, and support staff.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the IT team, monitor performance, and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to encourage teamwork and professional development.
Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, service providers, and contractors to ensure the timely delivery of IT services and support.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to make informed decisions regarding technology partnerships and investments.
Security and Compliance
- Enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive data and systems from internal and external threats.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as ISO and NIST, through regular audits and assessments.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential security vulnerabilities.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline IT operations and enhance overall efficiency.
- Lead projects to upgrade existing systems, deploy new technologies, and implement best-in-class IT solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or another related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- At least 7 years of experience in IT management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong team leader, with proven ability to cultivate high performing teams and facilitate organizational growth of high performing team members
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex infrastructure projects.
- Ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously, prioritize with alignment to organizational goals and objectives and build consensus among conflicting priorities.
- Deep understanding of networking, virtualization, cloud computing, and other relevant technologies.
- Strong knowledge of IT security principles and practices, with experience implementing security controls and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
