In this role, you will be responsible for managing software development & support teams for E&W within the Brightspeed's service assurance systems development organization
Products include but are not limited to TDM, Ethernet and SDWAN
You will play a key role in modernizing Lumen’s legacy systems that we will acquire
You are expected to have a broad experience with software development, product delivery, agile, descopes and cloud computing
You will be capable of leading the team by example and by contribution, as the teams develop and ship features
This role requires a love of learning and problem solving, and the ability to guide a team towards implementing architectures and solutions.You will report directly to the Director, Service Assurance Systems.As Manager, IT Service Assurance Systems - Enterprise & Wholesale, your duties and responsibilities will include:Lead the design and implementation of Service Assurance systems specific to E&W businessCoordinate and drive the delivery across IT and Business partners in a multi-vendor environment through the SDLC – requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and supportHands-on involvement as needed in all areas of SDLC – development, debugging, verification and testing, production monitoring and performance analysisLay out enterprise architecture and design for systems and applications spanning multiple departments and organizationsReview, document and publish the architecture, interfaces, and design documents based on sessions with IT and business partners and existing artifactsTranslate business requirements to software specification and requirementsTrack and manage IT KPIs and OKRs; leverage the larger delivery ecosystem to drive target achievementGenerate reports and metrics for IT and business reviews, preparing updates for executive leadershipWork closely with senior management, analyzing long-term business goals and suggesting ways the organization might achieve these goals with technologyInfluence, negotiate, build consensus, and align with peer engineering, product, business teams and vendor partners on solutioning and implementationProvide industry knowledge, experience, and best practices to help the team stay ahead of the curve in keeping our technology stack cutting edgeQualificationsWHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years of leadership experience5+ Years of development experience with ServiceNow and JavaStrong understanding of Ethernet, SDWAN, electrical/optical productsStrong understanding of Layer 1, 2, 3 inventory3+ years of design and development in the OSS/BSS space in Service AssuranceExperience leading software development lifecycle including concept, design, prototyping, integration, testing, and production releaseExperience with designing and implementing APIs using Apigee Edge.Experience in implementing API Security and Access Control (OAuth/SAML, Web SSO, SSL etc.)Experience building Cloud-native applications with integration with the Big Data ecosystems (Hadoop, NoSql, Spark etc.) is a Plus.Working knowledge of web platform technologies such as Java, Spring framework, MVC, REST, Graph, Kafka, GraphDB Web services in a hybrid/multi-cloud environment.Good experience with one of the major cloud providers GCP or AzureExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to prioritize the key business programs by collaborating with business partners#LI-SS1Additional InformationWHY JOIN US?We aspire to contemporary ways of working.Recognized as a Top Workplace by the Charlotte Observer, Brightspeed HQ is located on the 7th floor of the new Vantage South End - East Tower in Charlotte, NC.
