This position will be responsible for management of sourcing activities and suppliers across External Manufacturing, Direct Materials, APIs, Devices, and Strategic Services for critical Small Molecule Platform New Product Introductions (NPI).
Collaborating closely with Supply Chain Procurement, PES, and other key business partners to build new product competence, this role will ensure timely delivery of external partner value and execution in support of pre & post launch NPI readiness. Taking an end-to-end approach across Procurement categories to build and carry-out coordinated project plans and value driven and resilient supply strategies while building vital competencies will be critical success factors.
This individual will support identification, development, and implementation of procurement goals and strategy for NPI in order to deliver against organizational targets for reliable supply, financial performance, quality, and compliance adherence. They will drive key relationships within the business, support key supplier relationships with the Procurement categories, and identify and develop key capabilities and subject matter expertise associated with new and future-orientated business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or supports sourcing initiatives to identify the right supplier partners and build adequate material capacities to support NPI business.
- Influence business decision-making to deliver ongoing value improvements and drive competitive advantage.
- Proactively engages business partners and/or category leaders to identify their needs and incorporate those needs into targeted strategies.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of business needs and external market trends to support the development of robust new product sourcing strategies.
- Develop innovative and sustainable solutions to identify and mitigate risk, drive long-term, end-to-end value, and achieve unmet business needs. Identifies and pursues opportunities to develop supplier capabilities.
- Mitigate business risk through the understanding of commercial, legal, and regulatory requirements and the use of efficient contracting channels demonstrating standard processes and technology.
- Act as procurement authority in support to cross material category specific or cross category initiatives (may include Chemicals, API, EM, Packaging, Devices, Sterilization)
- Represent procurement in End-to-End supply chain initiatives of manufacturing network, digital tools/ technology adoption, and resiliency.
- A Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent degree require; with a MBA preferred
Required:
- A minimum 6 years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated skills in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category, and Supplier Management, preferably in the Supply Chain Environment
- Strong partner management skills working with cross category, supply chain and other functional partners.
- Ability to lead, influence, partner on & shape projects without direct team / authority
- Ability to engage, interact and negotiate value enhancing relationships with suppliers
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization is able to effectively and efficiently move through transitions
- A demonstrated ability to work within a Supply Chain or Procurement Category
- Experience in complex team member environment; rich influencing skills; understanding of complexities of Regulated industries
- Experience with global procurement for External Manufacturing, Materials, and Services
- Strong business and finance competence, a deep understanding of managing for impact with team members
- Proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
- The ability to understand and influence team members on differing viewpoints (e.g., cross-functional business leaders, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain)
- CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP, or other certification
- This position may require up to 10% domestic & international travel
