SCOPE OF ROLE
Reporting to the Associate Medical Director, Residential, the Manager, Nursing - Residential will contribute to patient access, engagement, and positive clinical outcomes for patients receiving withdrawal management and maintenance pharmacotherapy medical treatments for substance use disorders. You will champion an individualized, patient-centered, motivational approach with a goal of reducing morbidity and mortality associated with harmful substance use. You will have responsibility for managing the work of all Residential Services RN Supervisors and residential nurses. In addition, the Manager is responsible for ensuring program compliance with HRSA, Ohio MHAS, CARF, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
- Effectively manage and oversee the daily objectives of the Residential Services Nursing team.
- Be actively engaged when overseeing your team member's individual performance which should include ongoing coaching, development, and meeting objectives through the annual review process.
- Lead by example by providing ongoing communication, teaching, and training to team members.
- Actively lead team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve work productivity, quality, and efficiency of the team.
- Coordinate Addiction Services activities with the Director, Residential Services, Director, Psychiatry Services, Program Directors, Pharmacists, Director, Addiction Medicine, and other necessary staff with the ultimate goal of improving patient access, engagement, and outcomes.
- Support the Director, Residential Services in developing and implementing metrics for monitoring program effectiveness, maintaining a clinical database to support patient care delivery, coordination, and quality improvement efforts.
- Develop and lead effective standardization efforts related to clinical procedures, processes, and workflows to achieve high-quality, cost-effective care.
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities of Residential Nursing Services team members.
- Ensure patient urine drug screening practices are compliant with state and federal standards, as well as clinical best practices.
- Review with Director of Residential Nursing and Addiction Services any performance issues
- Support and model Signature Health's open access philosophy, "when you need help now," in all activities.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain all aspects of HIPAA, promoting patient confidentiality and the right to privacy.
- May be required to perform telehealth services as determined by Signature Health.
- Adherence and completion of compliance training provided by Signature Health.
- Responsible for and completing all productivity/documentation requirements.
- Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
- Demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality in adherence to Signature Health policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
- Valid unencumbered RN license in the state of Ohio required.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a clinical practice field or in an ambulatory care management position required.
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience with the development and implementation of healthcare organizational policies and procedures
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
- While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
- Will be available by phone 24/7 for nursing support
- Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
- Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
- Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
- Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
- Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing job duties.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
- Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
