Position Overview:
As the Manager of Actuarial Analytics for our Commercial division, you'll take on a vital role in leading and producing pricing, forecasting, and reserving deliverables. You'll coach and set priorities for direct reports while also collaborating with departments across the organization to align with organizational goals. This role is both strategic and hands-on, as you'll function as a technical resource and mentor to Actuarial Analysts and ensure compliance with evolving healthcare trends, analytic methodologies, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and produce Commercial pricing, forecasting, and reserving deliverables.
- Set priorities for, coach, and guide direct reports to reach their potential.
- Collaborate with leaders across departments (Product, Finance, Underwriting, Regulatory, Pharmacy) and with external entities (CMS, provider groups) to support shared goals.
- Stay informed on healthcare and actuarial trends to ensure alignment with pricing and valuation initiatives.
- Serve as a technical mentor, providing guidance and support to Actuarial Analysts.
Location: 100% remote for residents of California, Oregon, and Washington.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and/or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation.
- 7+ years of healthcare actuarial experience with a focus on Medicare Advantage pricing and bid development.
- Proficiency in SQL or similar programming language for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong project management skills in data-related and financial analysis projects.
- Preferred:
- Masters Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare actuarial analytics, particularly with Commercial Pricing or Valuation.
- Experience certifying Commercial Rate Filings.
- Familiarity with revenue methodologies across Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid lines.
- Proven experience managing independent professional staff.
