About the Job
An industry leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Manager of Civil Engineering for their Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania team!
Responsibilities:
- Provide Project Managers with the resources needed to complete projects
- Create work plans/estimates for specific disciplines
- Ensure work product meets client requirements and company standards
- Provide engineering/technical support
- Execute company QA/QC process for structural engineering discipline
- Ensure proper staffing levels/department utilization
- Manage staff resources including annual reviews, timesheets and expense report approvals
- Assist Human Resources on recruitment and training efforts
- Assist with business development activities including preparing presentations
- Participate in various trade organizations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of civil/site development design experience for Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects
- PE License preferred
- Civil engineering calculation experience (stormwater, potable water hydraulics, sewer and storm hydraulics, hydrology)
- Strong knowledge of building codes
- Proficient knowledge of standard construction practices
- Experience addressing issues with contractors
- Knowledge of permitting processes/requirements in Western PA jurisdictions
- Ability to manage several projects at once
- Ability to mentor/train staff and promote career growth
- Analysis software experience (ICPR, BMP Trains, HEC-RAS, Water CAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D)
