About the Position
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Manager of Communications will be a primary contributor to the overall development and execution of Restore’s communication strategy in connection with its content production, digital collateral, email marketing, social media, internal/external stakeholder communication, and brand maintenance.
Specific Responsibilities
Manage Digital Content, Social Media, Direct Mail, and Email Campaigns (35%)
- Build, refine, and maximize communication initiatives, including email, direct mail, and social media posts that target specific audiences
- Manage digital touchpoints for different audiences for fundraising campaigns, appeals, and newsletters in strategic alignment with the development team
- Develop and manage communications calendar, create workflows for all digital content (e.g., create, edit, publish, update, and retire content)
- Keep current with emerging social media and web communication platforms; develop new channels as needed; and proactively bring ideas and new opportunities for content, promotions, videos, blogs, etc., to the team
- Track and measure Restore’s level of engagement and success with various audiences and platforms over time
- Contract service providers with the necessary expertise to ensure timely and quality content
Branding, Writing, and Producing Development Material (35%)
- Oversee and manage content to maintain branding and ensure a positive public image, protection of survivors, and positive perception of donor and partner community
- Oversee development and execution, and work with appropriate team/contractors on creative projects–including digital design, video production, website management, and print materials
- Manage copywriting and content production across platforms and mediums (newsletters, email marketing, video scripts, solicitations, donor reporting, social posts)
- Write impact stories and create compelling narratives for development reports required by institutional donors, foundations, major donors, and any fundraising events (Gala, NYC Marathon, etc.)
- Oversee and manage the development of Restore monthly subscriber emails as well as a newsletter or other reports that provide stories and requests for prayer and donations
- Contract with service providers as necessary to ensure timely and high-quality materials
Assist Donor Acquisition and Movement (10%)
- Develop, with the team, a donor communications strategy that encourages new donors to Restore and encourages higher levels of gifts and engagement of donors
- Facilitate online anti-trafficking and awareness training with Development and Program staff
- Research donor interest and needs to ensure timely pivoting of communication approaches and forwarding of major donor requests to appropriate team members to improve donor response
- Report quarterly and end-of-year on audience and donor engagement
Collaborative Projects (10%)
- Contribute ideas and assist the staff with event planning and execution
- Ensure the accuracy of partner and donor data within email service providers and databases
- Assist with outcomes reporting to key organizational stakeholders
- Work as a primary partner in providing communications support to cross-department projects
Support Internal Communications (10%)
- Support internal communications within the organization by speaking into strategy, enhancing clarity and effectiveness of internal communications channels, and developing messaging
Experience
- Three years plus experience in nonprofit communications, journalism/editorial, professional agency, or other related areas
- Experience overseeing projects efficiently and with minimal oversight; ability to take an idea from concept to completion
- Degree in advertising, journalism, communications, English, or creative writing
- Strong technical understanding of web analytics and the ability to pick up new monitoring and reporting tools quickly, a plus
- Google Analytics experience a plus
- Strong understanding of website technology, social and email marketing
- Squarespace and Mailchimp experience a plus
- SEO knowledge a plus
- Basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign or Illustrator a plus

Compensation
The salary range is $70,000- $77,000. Restore provides a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, HSA/FSA, 15 vacation days, four spiritual retreat days, unlimited sick days, parental leave, a flex-time policy, and major medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance, as well as commuter benefits.
