Job Summary and Qualifications

• Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.
• Perform special assignments as needed/requested.
• Serves as a clinical resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care.
• Takes appropriate measures to ensure safety of patients.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services.
• Transport patients safely.
• Provide care of patients with a variety of medical diagnosis and resulting complications.
• Observes and counsels employees regarding performance, conduct, attendance and other matters.
• Mediates individual problems and refers to Director unresolved problems related to staffing, morale, scheduling, work method, procedures, discipline, transfers, safety and other actions involving employees.
• Participates in training programs of the department, to include an understanding for this position.
• Keeps abreast of the new procedures, equipment, methods and participates in their evaluation and application.
• Maintains medical and radiographic supplies.
• Assists Director in preparation of administrative reports, payroll records and budget.
• Notifies service engineer of equipment malfunction in a timely manner.
• Oversee quality control on equipment operation, radiographs and film processors.
• Assists Director in developing new policy and procedures. Makes recommendation for changes and improvement with existing policy and procedure.
• Participates in the departmental quality assurance program.
• Assists in the development and coordination of in-service educational programs.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by the Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
• Must be well trained to handle different ages and risk factors when performing diagnostic procedures.
• Efficiently operate PACS and Computed Radiography systems.
• Performs high-level disinfection.

What qualifications you will need:

Education/Skills:

• Associates degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience:

• Three years’ experience in diagnostic imaging required; leadership experience required.

Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications:

• Must be registered by ARRT.
• Must possess MRT from Texas Department of Health.
• BLS certification obtained by approved HCA vendor.
