Position Summary:
The RN Manager of Emergency Services will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our busy Emergency Department (ED). The successful candidate will lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality emergency care while maintaining a safe and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will have a BSN (Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred), at least 5 years of nursing experience, and a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
?Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Emergency Services department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based protocols, policies, and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency services.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting staff engagement, teamwork, and professional development.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and retention of qualified nursing staff for the Emergency Services department.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and mentoring, and implement performance improvement plans as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and quality indicators.
- Collaborate with other department leaders and hospital administration to optimize patient flow, resource utilization, and patient satisfaction.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources and cost-effective operations.
- Stay current with advancements in emergency nursing practice and technology, participating in professional development activities and promoting a culture of lifelong learning.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in an emergency department setting.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in emergency nursing practice.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and ensuring quality care.
