Frederick Living, part of Garden Spot Communities, is located in Zieglerville, PA (Montgomery County). We are a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) offering a full spectrum of care from retirement living, personal care, licensed healthcare, rehabilitation services, respite to memory care services.
Job Title: Manager of Environmental Services
Status: Full Time
Hiring For: 7am - 3:30pm OR 7:30am-4pm including weekends and holidays as needed
Salary Range: $29/hr based on experience

As a Manager of Environmental Services, supporting our mission will include the following responsibilities:
- Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct.
- Follows Residents' Rights policies at all times.
- Treats all information about residents, their condition and family as confidential.
- Contributes to creating and maintaining a work climate that encourages positive staff morale, motivation and commitment to the mission of the organization.
- Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Attends all in-services and training sessions relevant to the position.
- Organizes department functions.
- Directs and supervises personnel, schedules hours and assigns duties, monitors pay roll, evaluates work performance and promotes employee morale.
- Provides orientation, instruction, and in-service training.
- Resolves grievances and problems.
- Develops and maintains updated policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
- Assist the department manager in the preparation of budgets.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment and maintains inventories for department operation.
- Coordinates housekeeping and laundry services with other services and departments.
- Performs safety and quality inspections.
- Inspects and ensures proper functioning of equipment and effectiveness of cleaning supplies/products.
- Keeps Administration informed of refurbishing needs.
- Ensures that empty rooms, apartments, and cottages are cleaned and prepared for the next resident.
- Performs housekeeping and laundry duties as necessary.
- Supervise and give oversight to the Transportation Department.
- Observes infection control procedures.
- Works cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers.
- Attends and schedules employees to attend required in-service training programs.
- Attends committee meetings.
- Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Contributes to creating and maintaining a work climate that encourages positive staff morale, motivation, and commitment to the mission of the organization.
- Assist the department manager in the preparation of budgets.
What do I need for this role with Frederick Living?
- Thorough knowledge of housekeeping and laundry procedures, equipment, and supplies.
- Experience in institutional housekeeping and laundry management.
- Sufficient mechanical ability to repair and provide basic maintenance to equipment.
- Possesses basic computer knowledge and skills.
