Job Summary
The Manager of Infrastructure Engineering is responsible for developing, leading, and motivating a team of Datacenter, and Infrastructure Engineers to deliver excellent technical/non-technical support with outstanding customer service, satisfaction, and timeliness within the organization’s budget. This position has frequent contact with clients, direct reports, peers, and independent vendors.
Essential Functions
- Manage daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines.
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Develop Network/Infrastructure resources for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
- Evaluate the organization’s technology use, needs, and recommend improvements including hardware and software upgrades related to Atomic Data’s core infrastructure.
- Review and approve all internal change requests prior to their implementation.
- Prepare and review operational reports or project progress requirements.
- Manage the Infrastructure/Network Engineering Services & Products ensuring accurate and timely technical support and problem resolution is delivered with excellence to the Atomic Data clients; internal and external.
- Utilize performance measurement frameworks and feedback systems for Infrastructure/Network Engineering Services & Products to enhance the quality of support delivered (customer service, communication, and technical skills); identify potential deficiencies, troubleshoot challenges, and provide solutions for improvement.
- Participate in staffing decisions and ensure staff is trained and developed to meet the goals and needs of the department; establish a collaborative team environment and provide constructive feedback on a regular basis.
- Prepare performance evaluations for direct reports; monitor and evaluate performance standards, coach, and counsel staff as appropriate.
- Provide technical updates to managers and clients doing implementation and troubleshooting processes.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure cross functional knowledge amongst the teams.
- Provide successful development and implementation of innovative technology and processes.
- Responsible for the overall health and maintenance of the Atomic Data Centers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant field experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience providing technical support in a network environment; to include a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience required.
- Cisco and other Network certifications (preferred)
- ITIL Certification (preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of operations to include IT best practices (ITIL methodologies), industry trends and customer service; experience implementing methodologies to improve first call resolution, manage customer perceptions, and build strong internal relationships.
- Extensive experience and proven proficiency supporting datacenters, networks, servers, workstations, and applications.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary, high-performance teams, developing, and implementing innovative technology and processes; proficiency with meeting Service Level Agreements
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with clients at all levels and develop effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
