As the Manager, Operations Training, you will provide comprehensive training and development programs to teams in various facilities. What you'll do on a typical day:
• Develop, write, maintain, and coordinate training modules for a variety of specialties, including NLS, powered industrial truck (PIT) operations, IB, selecting, pack and ship processes, safety, loss prevention, people management, warehouse management systems (WMS), etc.
• Oversee the development of training material; maintain the library of training aids and operational procedures.
• Schedule training sessions; ensure facility and audio-visual equipment are set up and that employees are notified
• Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs through testing, surveys, etc.
• Identify required core competencies and address any skill gaps.
• Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and interacting with employees.
• Determine and implement career development plans for each training department employee.
• Maintain up-to-date Quality management system (QMS)
• Partnership with other departments to ensure training meets the operational needs.
• Evaluate individual operational performance to ensure that training is meeting business needs and improving performance.
• Participate in continual improvement activities to support operational processes, performance, and productivity.
• Create a curriculum to facilitate training for new hires, employees, and leadership.
• Lead Safety training and work in conjunction with the Facility manager to maintain safety practices and emergency plans.
• Provide documentation and process support in customer, safety, and environmental audits.
• Collaborate with GM and Director to set a Business continuity plan using Origami
• Brainstorm ideas to increase productivity and performance using time studies, SOP, and lean techniques.
• Create standards operating procedure (SOP) by operational process and customer expectations.
• Monitoring process adherence, identifying gaps in the process using the Collecting data, creating action to reinforce following the process.
• Create training plan for peak season onboarding, coordinate with operation, HR and recruiting training needs and new hires ratios.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
• 4 years of related work experience
• Experience with warehouse management or inventory systems
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and adult training methodologies
• Ability to adhere to the 7S program.
• Proven ability to maintain a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing safe work practices.
It'd be great if you also have:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 3 years of management experience
• 2 years of training, teaching or related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative and visual graphic design ability
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
