Position Overview
As a Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Precision Oncology sales representatives, and leading all account activity for select products within the Precision Oncology portfolio within your designated region, which may include OncoExTra, OncoDetect (MRD) and RiskGuard (Hereditary Cancer Testing). Your focus will be in these areas: driving sales results, Leadership, Planning, Project Management, People Development, and Communication. You are expected to continually develop the skills of individuals within your team and ensure that your region produces sales volume at or above the assigned region sales quota.
This position is field based.
We have opportunities across levels of experience including:
- Manager, Precision Oncology Specialty Sales
- Senior Manager, Precision Oncology Specialty Sales
To be considered for the senior level, candidates will have multiple years of experience managing oncology sales teams, experience in NextGen Sequencing, Minimal Residual disease, comprehensive genomic profiling, liquid biopsy and/or hereditary cancer. As well as existing relationships with cancer centers.
Essential Duties
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide effective leadership and strategic direction to respective region ROL’s to drive depth within each customer, successfully sell in head-to-head environment, develop strategic business plans, be clinical experts as well as knowledgeable of competitive dynamics.
- Establish quality working relationships with key departments within Exact Sciences to fully understand and support our mission and goals.
- Provide feedback to Sales and Managed Care (contracting/pricing), and future product development strategies.
- Be well informed on scientific and applicable disease states, competition, and outside influences that impact our business; identify emerging opportunities that benefit our business.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures and applicable legal standards and requirements.
- Participate and collaborate on various cross-functional committees; such as Incentive Compensation, Marketing, etc.
- Take initiative and provides feedback when addressing issues, opportunities, and challenges that pertain to corporate goal attainment.
- Develop meaningful and productive relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within respective Region.
- Develop, present, and execute a comprehensive region business plan.
- Implement the plan and provide feedback, track, and make adjustments to meet revenue and budget targets.
- Identify ethical, innovative, customer-oriented ideas in response to changing markets.
- Participate and/or lead special sub-teams critical to our success; including strategy, Managed Care, contracting, pricing, business development, patient advocacy, competitive analysis, quality assurance, etc.
- Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
- Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
- Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
- Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
- Lead in the areas of hiring, training, counseling, coaching, and developing team members.
- Manage performance through honesty and integrity; commitment to the support and development of their team; recognize and reward those that are doing the right things and offer avid support to those in need.
- Mentor and develop ROL’s for further career advancement, recognizing, and capitalizing on their individual strengths and contributions.
- Support budgets and projects that require involvement of people in multiple departments, as well as simultaneous complex tasks to meet deadlines.
- Support open communication and use managerial courage to communicate expectations; solicit feedback on their own performance on a regular basis to insure the highest quality of leadership through continuous learning.
- Effectively communicate to senior executives to build awareness of all key issues related to their area of responsibility; provide information critical to accomplishing the Exact Sciences mission to all parties involved in the Sales and Access of our products; such as the Marketing and Billing/Reimbursement teams.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
- Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and customers as needed.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Occasional lifting (greater than 25 pounds) may be necessary.
- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.
- Ability to travel 75% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications differ depending on the role. Minimum qualifications to be considered for one of these opportunities are:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or field related to the essential duties of the job.
- 6+ years of experience in medical related sales experience.
- 2+ years of sales experience in oncology.
- Proven track record in sales with demonstrated leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner, prioritize and work towards results with a high emphasis on quality, work as part of a team, and think strategically.
- Demonstrated writing and presentation ability; e.g., memos, letters, reports, presentations, data analyses spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
- Proficient computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
- No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
- No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
- No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Salary Range:
$0.00 - $0.00The annual base salary shown reflects the combined salary range for both titles. Placement within the annual base pay range will vary depending on experience and location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
