Job Summary and Qualifications
Job Summary:
The Manager of Rehab Therapy ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the Rehab Therapy team. As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, the Manager coordinates appropriate staffing levels and treatment schedules and monitors the amount/type/quality of the therapy services provided. The Manager guides the provision of therapeutic care to achieve optimal outcomes and excellence in patient satisfaction. The Manager can also function as a licensed therapist and administer therapy modalities and treatment as prescribed by the licensed physician.
In this role, you will:
Prepares and implements staffing schedules, Adjusting as needed to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Helps determine category of admission (i.e. observation status or inpatient admission) placement on department in absence of case manager.
Completes rounding on all therapy staff according to established time frames.
Serves as liaison between patients, family, staff and physicians.
Identifies patient complaints; resolves issues and reports to management.
Identifies and communicates any quality/safety/risk issues to appropriate leader for resolution.
Ensures timely, accurate documentation of services, according to hospital and departmental standards.
Ensures completion of daily charges.
Compiles reports for chaplaincy services, social services, nursing administration, etc. and assists staff in completing other reports as needed to facilitate communication.
Facilitates allocation of appropriate resources to ensure quality.
Authorizes the procurement of supplies, equipment, etc. in emergent situations.
Fosters a culture promoting teamwork to accommodate departmental cooperation throughout the facility.
Reviews various feedback mechanisms and helps identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction. Supports the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.
Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization. Implements evidence-based employee engagement practices.
Identifies development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams. Provides coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance.
Participates in interviewing applicants for open therapy positions.
Assumes responsibility for resolving and/or channeling employee grievances, disputes, or concerns according to appropriate procedures.
Administers treatments and physical agents according to specialty, as prescribed by a referring physician.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”
Job Requirements:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Bachelors Degree
- Licensed Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapy (OT), or Speech Pathologist
