Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Research Laboratory Operations.
The Manager, Research Laboratory Operations, is responsible for managing and supporting aspects of laboratory and research facilities operations in the NYULH research building portfolio as a member of the Office of Science & Research (OSR) Research Lab Operations (RLO) team. In this capacity, shall be responsible for coordinating infrastructure support for laboratory operations in all research laboratories and scientific core facilities as assigned by Research Laboratory Operations leadership, assisting with laboratory renovation, repair, and relocations for the buildings in the research building portfolio in collaboration with Real Estate Development & Facilities, the Division of Advanced Research Technologies (DART) and the Office of Science and Research.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a OSR research operations liaison to department administrators, principal investigators, directors of research cores and laboratory staff in NYULH and/or tenant occupied buildings with research assets, to ensurethat the infrastructure, organizational and collaborative needs of the NYULH research enterprise are met.
- Coordinate research laboratory renovations and repairs and relocations with RED&F project management and facilities operations teams.
- Building operations: oversee maintenance and support for: OSR and departmental shared equipment, shared services, ultralow temperature freezer alarm system (ELPRO)
- Lab safety: Coordinate with Environmental Health & Safety, Radiation Safety and Campus Security to ensure that research laboratories meet Federal, State and Local regulatory requirement and relevant codes. Fire warden and/or Fire Life Safety Team coordination. Assist with coordination of regulatory agency inspections - FDNY / EPA / OSHA / AAALAC Inspection in assigned buildings.
- Biosafety Program assist with audit, inspection and compliance of laboratories with all relevant institutional biosafety policies, guidelines and SOPs in collaboration with Research Laboratory Operations leadership and OSR Biosafety Program Director.
- Faculty on- and off-boarding: Serve as on-site liaison to departments and institutes administration and faculty with tasks associated withfaculty on- and off-boarding for assigned buildings
- Maintain up-to-date research space occupancy and utilization data in support of space management needs as well as F&A proposalsubmissions. Support research space assignment mapping in research buildings andaudit of existing assignment maps as needed.
- Support capital equipment lifecycle tracking.
- Serve as OSR point of contact to NYULMC Security for assigned buildings.
- Coordinate with Materials Management for deliveries of research materials to the tenant occupied buildings inthe research portfolio as needed.
- Serve as building liaison to EM & ER and OSR Incident Command Group during emergencies. Participate in EM & ER tabletop training exercises and facilitate communications to research laboratories during emergent situations.
- Maintain records and prepare reports as needed
- Represent Assistant Director, Research Laboratory Operations & Planning in lab construction, renovation, and infrastructure enhancement projects related projects as assigned.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
- Report to Assistant Director, Research Laboratory Operations & Planning.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required, preferably in business management.
At least 8 years of experience clinical laboratory experience and at least 4 years of experience managing and supervising clinical laboratory work in a team setting.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power point and Outlook.Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and faculty and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.Ability to multi task and manage multiple projects with deadlines.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.96 - $141,750.oo Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
