Responsibilities
Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Revenue Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the revenue accounting function and staff. You will develop and analyze reports and statistics reflecting financial performance, profit, cash balances and financial results; ​coordinate with IT for revenue impact to reservation systems; ​systematically record passenger revenue and maintain appropriate data repository; ensure receipt and posting of cash receipts, credit card payment, reconciling outstanding balances, preparation of periodic report on accounts receivable and past due status with related collection activities.
· Develops and analyzes reports and statistics reflecting financial performance, profit, cash balances and financial results.
· Audits revenue accounting procedures and policies for accuracy and appropriate application
· Identifies and implements processing efficiencies
· Responsible for account reconciliation, including unearned revenue
· Coordinates with IT for revenue impact to reservation systems.
· Systematically records passenger revenue and maintains appropriate data repository.
· Ensures receipt and posting of cash receipts, credit card payment, reconciling outstanding balances, preparation of periodic report on accounts receivable and past due status with related collection activities.
· People management responsibilities of direct reports.
· Performs and maintains SOX controls and compliance.
· Provides support for external financial audits.
· Coordinates with Commercial team to ensure impacts from business initiatives are properly recorded according to accounting policies and procedures.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting related-major or equivalent experience.
· 5 + years of experience in progressively responsible accounting or financial analysis positions, incl people management, or corresponding equivalent professional experience
· Broad in-depth understanding of accounting principles, theories, concepts and practices is required.
· Ability to conduct complex analysis, with a strong attention to detail.
· Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in multi-management levels or team environments.
· Proficiency in computer applications and accounting/finance systems.
