We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the “extra mile” philosophy to fulfill our Manager and Sales Trainee (MST) role.
The Manager and Sales Trainee is responsible for successfully completing an extensive and structured 10-12 month training program. The program is designed to provide a "hands-on" and "ground-up" approach to training and developing an individual that is new to the commercial and industrial tire industry, as well as mechanical services. The program is structured in a way that exposes the individual to the basic business segments of the company while building the necessary skills required for any entry-level sales or operations management role within the organization.
What You’ll Do on a Typical Day:
The duties and responsibilities of the MST are to work the 10 Phases of the training program. Each phase has a learning goal and tasks to accomplish. These are listed in the MST Program Outline.
Phase 1- Introduction/Warehouse
- Step 1- Introduction (1 Week)
- Step 2- Warehouse (1 Week)
- Step 3- BibTread (Tablet) Training Warehouse/Route Truck (1 Week)
Phase 2- Retread
- Step 1- Retread/Manufacturing (2 Weeks)
Phase 3- Onsite Commercial Tire Service
- Step 1- Service Center Floor (4 Weeks)
- Step 2- Service Center Point of Sale (5 Weeks)
Phase 4- Offsite Commercial Tire Service
- Step 1- Service Truck (2 Weeks)
- Step 2- Dispatch Desk (6 Weeks)
Phase 5- TRACS
- Step 1- TRACS Operations (1 Week)
- Step 2- Advanced Warehouse (1 Week)
Phase 6- Outside Branch Exposure (1 Week)
- Step 1- Exposure to another branch other than training facility (1 Week)
Phase 7- Mechanical Services
- Step 1- Shop Floor/Mobile Truck (1 Week)
- Step 2- Mechanical Service Desk (4 Weeks)
- Step 3- Advanced/Mechanical Billing (1 Week)
Phase 8- Industrial
- Step 1- Service Truck (2 Weeks)
- Step 2- Service Desk/Call Center (1 Week)
Phase 9- Advanced Admin
- Step 1- Advanced Admin (1 Week)
- Step 2- Corporate Admin (1 Week)
Phase 10- Test Week
- Step 1- Manage “ANY” Assigned Small Branch for One Week (1 Week)
Concentration Phase
- Step 1- Concentrate on Specific Career Path (4 Weeks)
Work will be a combination of office and service shop/warehouse setting. This will be at one of our commercial/industrial tire and/or mechanical truck service centers. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, interacts with moving mechanical parts/equipment, and the noise level at the service center is usually moderate to high. Overnight and out of market travel to other Snider locations and customers is less than 25%.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Education or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or other related fields and/or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years' experience within the industry or a related management position.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Class C Driver's License or state(s) equivalent and must be insurable to drive by company standards.
- Commercial TIA certification required after six months of employment.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- DOT Medical Certification, obtained during hiring
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- Safety conscious at all times.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and operate other software (AS400, SAP, Paylocity, BTN, etc.)
- Must have strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, as well as close attention to detail.
- Ability to cycle inventory, run reports, and communicate with upper management.
- Reliable and dependable with self-initiative.
- Ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure and time constraints.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and client base.
- Ability to understand the top 30 customer’s portfolio, as well as the top 10 potential.
- Superior customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Demonstrate proficient analytical thinking and business insight.
- Requires the ability to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Must be able to work in a results-oriented fast-paced environment.
