Title and Summary Manager, Software Engineering (Mobile) Overview Mastercard’s Corporate Solutions team is a rapidly growing organization with responsibilities to deliver innovative solutions to help our customers grow and expand their business. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this dynamic team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. We are seeking a Manager, Software Engineering (Mobile development) to lead a cross-functional development team within the Corporate Solutions organization. Software Engineering Managers at Mastercard are an essential part of our organization. They are focused on three main areas: people leadership, technical strategy and product delivery. Their time is spent hiring, mentoring and coaching a world-class cross-functional team and owning the full lifecycle of their teams’ products. While much of your time will be spent assisting your team, we expect that you can, and will, dive into code and build features. Role: • Manage, coach, and develop 2+ cross-functional engineering teams. • Provide strategic technical leadership and product direction for applications, architectures, system design and software development processes for mobile applications. • Build performant, scalable and secure mobile applications. • Build a culture of trust, ownership, and purpose. • Participate and drive design, technical and code reviews. • Implement coding standards and approaches. • Promote an Agile approach to software development. Insist on a culture of continuous integration and delivery, automation and minimizing blast radius. • Collaborate with teams across the organization to mitigate risk and resolve dependencies. • Lead goal setting and accountability practices within the engineering team. • Continuously experiment and innovate to develop a high performing engineering team. • Be a strong individual contributor to the implementation efforts of product solutions. All About You: • Experience leading engineering teams and/or coaching and mentoring junior teammates. • Experience successfully designing and developing external facing native mobile applications. • Deep understanding of mobile application technologies (iOS/ Android). • High proficiency in using Kotlin, Swift, Oracle DBA, and Java in an enterprise environment. • Proven success leading and building teams, performing performance reviews, and coaching employees. • Possess an understanding of multi-tier software development, including knowledge of server-side technologies and databases. • Deep knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery and toolsets that provide this ability including cloud-based CI/CD technologies compatible with mobile development. • Experience demonstrating quality engineering best practices to define processes and technologies. • Understanding of agile principles and methodologies and experience implementing and adapting them to fit the team’s needs. • Use and understand Git based source control systems. • Previous experience in ADA and WCAG compliance. In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
