Job Summary
Serves as a key liaison between Synovus' business and technology teams, ensuring that our technology strategy serves our business objectives. Maintains a portfolio of initiatives, assisting with prioritization, and planning for demand and capacity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Partners with senior management and key business units to define a strategic roadmap and portfolio that aligns with business goals and objectives.
* Assists in the development and implementation of a long-term technology plan that supports the strategic direction of the business.
* Maintains a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring that projects are prioritized in alignment with strategic objectives.
* Works closely with technology and business teams to assess demand and plan for capacity needs.
* Acts as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
* Facilitates cross-functional coordination to drive projects to completion on time and within budget, ensuring standard methodologies, standards, practices and templates are defined and followed across business implementation teams.
* Collaborates with vendors and partners to leverage external capabilities, ensuring technology solutions are cost-effective and high-quality.
* Promotes the use of technology across the business, highlighting benefits and improvements to efficiency and productivity.
* Solves for, or ensures timely escalation of systemic risks and issues. Removes barriers and obstacles to project completion, adjusts priorities and approach as needed.
* Provides expert guidance on process design and improvement best practices, tools and governance policies. Utilizes experience and Synovus project data and lessons learned to continuously improve project and portfolio management policies and procedures.
* Fosters an environment of empowerment, openness, inclusion and objectivity while striving to deliver solutions that benefit the entire organization.
* Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters
* Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
* Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum experience:
* Six years of experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of business processes and technology, vendor management and contract negotiations, and bridging the gap between business and technology
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Exceptional strategic planning and project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead project teams
* Superior analytical capabilities and the ability to manage a portfolio of projects and workstreams
* Demonstrated ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations; can settle differences with minimum noise; can win concessions without damaging relationship; can be both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic; gains trust quicky of other parties to the negotiations; employs a good sense of timing.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Strong problem-solving capabilities and history of approaching obstacles in a logical and analytical manner with a high degree of perseverance
* Demonstrated success in building credibility with peers and key stakeholders to drive action and change
* Capable of getting things done through both formal channels and the informal network; understands the origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices and procedure; understands the cultures of organizations
