The Wealth Planning Manager will be joining a fast-growing Registered Investment Advisory firm with a culture of entrepreneurship, education, and collaboration. You will be reporting to the Head of Family Office. This role will be dedicated to delivering value to the client-advisor relationship with estate tax planning, income tax planning, and holistic financial planning. Deliver strategies and recommendations, sometimes to the advisor and sometimes directly to the client. Equity compensation planning - ISOs (AMT considerations) and non quals. QSBS planning. Small business succession planning, etc. You will partner and collaborate with cross-functional groups across the firm, such as advisor services, tax, and trust.
As the leader of the planning team, you will work alongside our advisors to assess prospective and existing client needs and will help gather data, enter data into various planning tools, and assist advisors in implementing plans. In addition to overall plan modeling, duties will include creating detailed strategies around income taxes, estate planning, insurance, and education funding and working with outside professionals to implement the various strategies. You will own more complex client relationships, such as UHNW and multi-generational clients. You will also be asked to assist advisors in preparing for quarterly investment and planning reviews and to share best practices with advisors around substantive planning and administrative topics. Finally and on a regular basis, you may also work on other, various firm initiatives supporting the overall mission of the advisors and the firm.
This is a hybrid role (3 days a week in person, 2 remote) based in our Dallas office.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the team on day-to-day responsibilities, acting as a player-coach
- Managing workflow efficiencies and optimizing processes
- Partner with advisors with business development for new or existing clients
- Executing sophisticated planning engagements
- Educating advisors regarding substantive planning topics
- Supporting broader firm initiatives, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning, Economics, or related field
- CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) or CFA Level III required
- CPA, JD, or MBA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of financial planning experience
- Prior single- or multi-family office experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience is preferred
- Experience with equity compensation, including but not limited to the tax impacts of exercising and selling options
- Experience with multi-generational estate planning - developing complex strategies, estate plan review, GST planning, dynasty trust planning
- Highly proactive with a disciplined and solid work ethic
- Previous experience being in a customer-facing role
- Highly attentive to customer service and client care
- Excellent English interpersonal and communication skills
- Outstanding time management and organization skills
- Experience with planning software (MoneyGuide Pro preferred)
