Job Description/Responsibilities:Bio: The Managerial Cost Accountant is responsible for supporting the business with the primary goal being cost control. Responsibilities includes managing the Managerial Cost Systems and ensuring Sazerac operates with the most accurate full costs in the industry. Additionally, responsible for forecasting, cost reduction support, data integrity (BOMs, Routes, Item Set Up), and financial reporting.
- Lead annual MCS cost setting for the defined production facilities. Continuously maintain the MCS Costing Systems working with various functional groups to ensure new items are costed correctly. Manage all aspects of data input tables including but not limited to component details, ingredient purchase and use, product recipes, 5010 credits, labor, volume targets, etc. Thorough understanding of the process, the system (MCS 1st priority, S21 2nd priority), and the data containedtherein. Work with the OCS (S21) experts to develop consistencies between the two systems. Become the lead MCS expert for assigned functional group.
- Provide reliable costing data and support to all Management. Lead the translation and understanding of the individual MCS cost calculations to support cost saving initiatives and promote production efficiency. Look for optimized buying opportunities related to quantity, freight, and sourcing.
- Provide intuitive reports and analysis to all necessary departments to improve business decisions and understanding. Research and develop streamlined processes to improve efficiency in retrieving data.
- Work with Finance to improve understanding of GAAP versus MCS and reconcile difference. Research and analyze costing inquiries and provide analysis to eliminate future problems and understand cost discrepancies.
- Use PDS to enhance performance within the company through evaluation, planning, and goal execution. Strive to constantly develop oneself as a valuable asset through personal and professional growth and attention to the position’s outcomes.
- Participate in the improvement of the current cost setting process to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Utilize CDS system to identify training needs and design development curriculum, programs and content for the purpose of preparing for career opportunities within the company. Provide feedback to manager regarding on-the-job learning opportunities.

- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or relevant experience.
PREFERRED
- Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall
- Experience with System 21 ERP software
- Requires Experience using Microsoft Access 2003 or newer
