ERM is seeking an experienced and motivatedProject Manager based in Minneapolis to manage and support impact assessment and permitting for a variety of energy related projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with new and maintenance Midstream Energy projects, new commercial scale renewable energy projects, and electrical transmission projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise clients (in collaboration with ERM Partner and other subject matter experts) regarding their environmental compliance requirements and other strategic needs.
- Manage diverse ERM teams executing compliance and permitting project for clients performing maintenance and new capital projects in the energy industry.
- Manage and provide technical assistance on FERC licensing and on NEPA environmental assessment (EA) and environmental impact statement (EIS) projects and related activities in support of ERM clients’ development projects (e.g., onshore wind, offshore wind, solar and other renewable energy projects).
- Be client focused to deliver high quality work for their needs, and build and deepen client relationships to diversify and grow ERM’s portfolio of work.
- Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and help expand our growing renewable projects and team.
- Collaborate with other ERM practitioners to execute impact assessment and capital project permitting (ERM services broadly include baseline studies, environmental impact assessment, routing studies, land planning, and facility siting & permitting).
- Mentor junior level consulting staff to develop their skill sets.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in environmental studies, planning, geography, civil or environmental engineering or related natural resources science or natural history field of study.
- 4 years minimum experience required and 7+ years preferred.
- Understanding of varying federal, state, and local laws and permit requirements for the construction of energy projects.
- Working knowledge of pipeline, electric transmission line or other facility construction practices, in addition to health and safety requirements, wetland, threatened and endangered species, cultural and other environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, speak persuasively and develop rapport internally and externally.
- Deadline oriented and adaptable to diverse environments (i.e. construction work areas, inclement weather, etc.) with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
- Having established relationships with energy and/or power companies in the Midwestern US region will be an advantage.
For the Managing Consultant, Impact Assessment and Permitting Project Manager position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $84,007 – $98,909 USD. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
