How you will create an impact
- Responsible for the performance of a claims team comprised of Casualty Adjusters and Complex Directors.
- Oversee a team that is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and negotiating moderate to high severity Auto and General Liabilityclaims nationwidewhich may have unique coverages while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Ensure that adjusting staff analyze coverage; investigate and resolve claims within granted authority to ensured cost-effective outcomes, and effectively communicate with internal and external business partners.
- Provide ongoing coaching/counseling to direct reports to achieve technical excellence and aid the Assistant Vice President in developing and ensuring technical excellence by establishing policies and procedures in support of claim file quality.
- Conduct periodic claim file audits of field claims practices and results.
- Training and developing staff, maintaining team metrics and communicating with underwriters, insureds, brokers and senior claim management.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Motivated individuals who are interested in the potential for an upwardly mobile career path.
- Prior claims management experience preferred.
- 7+ years of General and Auto Liability claim experience.
- Experience resolving moderate to high severity injury claims and ability to evaluate complex coverage scenarios.
- In depth knowledge of claim handling procedures, claims performance strategies, and claim best practices.
- Ability to collaborate and successfully manage work when working at home or in the office in a flexible work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology and improve skills in benchmarking.
- Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems, as well as ability to achieve business goals and objectives is essential.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks while managing competing priorities.
- Effective decision- making skills including the ability to recognize, analyze, and improve claims performance against standards and goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience handling self- insured retentions, surplus lines coverages, and partnering with MGAs is a plus.
- Ability to obtain multi-state adjuster licenses within 6 months of hire.
