• Minimum of 3 years injection molding and/or robotics experience or 5 years casting experience

This leader will be located in our new core plant in Whitehall, MI and will be responsible for the leadership of the manufacturing engineering and automation and controls engineering group.

Job Roles:

• Boundary spanner--takes initiative across disciplines, operations and the campus; makes sacrifices so that other areas can be successful; practices holistic thinking and acts intentionally to collaborate; eliminates barriers and silos
• Developer--mentors and coaches both senior and junior level associates; prepares others for success; stimulates learning and contribution from teams; educates others on technical requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead Automation initiatives to achieve product yield improvements, variation reduction, and achieve cost reduction goals related to the manufacture of ceramic cores/castings supporting all shifts
• Direct and manage the activities regarding product tool/part designs and standards
• Manage and direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) initiative ensuring product development in accordance with overall project timelines, budget, and quoted standards
• Help to develop the overall plant scrap reduction and plant productivity plan and manage the Hoshin Kanri initiatives and actions to meet the plant targets including TPM strategies to meet Plant goals
• Direct and participate in the conception, evaluation, implementation and Execution of cost improvement, product improvement and production problem solving activities. Support and participation in Tier 2 & 3 daily management meetings.
• Establish professional working relationship with Engineering Managers and Engineering Team at each casting facility and promote engineering team communication regarding product status and issues
• Responsible for creating an environment of engagement and fostering development of Engineering Staff through Talent Factory strategy.
• Manage training development strategies for the Engineering Staff
