The Manufacturing Buyer is responsible for evaluating suppliers, developing new/additional suppliers, negotiating price, developing annual price reduction processes, purchasing goods or services, and contract negotiations. This position will work cross functionally to ensure requirements are met when making purchases while ensuring the financial goals of the company are met.

Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, and other representatives.Frequently contact suppliers to maintain relationship and proactively monitor/mitigate price increases.Identify preferred suppliers for purchased items Develop alternate suppliers for purchased items.Communicates daily with Materials & Procurement team to identify items in need of sourcing.Utilize ERP to maintain vendor lead times, update pricing, audit variances, and other required tasks.Prepare all aspects of simple bids, requests for quotes, and proposals, including precise. specifications, supporting spreadsheets, comparisons, recommendations, and justifications.Provide liaison services between vendors and departments for order status, procurement procedures, and problem resolution.Maintains component obsolesces, works directly with Engineering and Sales to plan revisions and component succession.Devise the most profitable process to consume remaining inventory and roll out new designs.Communicate daily with Materials & Procurement team to identify items in need of sourcing.May lead, guide, and train staff performing related work Issue purchase orders as required.Communicate with the department managers to ensure production requirements and deliveries are being defined and executed throughout the manufacturing process.Other duties as assigned by the manager.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Normal range of hearing and visionRequires the ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment requiring critical thinking skillsREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
High school diploma or equivalent.Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.Experience implementing and using ERP systems.5 years of experience as a Manufacturing BuyerVehicle knowledge.Quality system experience.Procurement-supplier management of various commodities.Cost reduction track record.Supplier management skills.Excellent communication & negotiating skills Coordination with department managers.APICS CPIM, CPM certification preferred.Experience defining standards in an engineer to order-assembly to order environment. Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a focus on exceptional customer service.Candidate must be a motivated individual who can work independently.
