SUMMARY
As a shift Electrician Mechanical Technician (EMT), you will apply knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment to support all areas of manufacturing plant in a safe manner. The EMT will be responsible for maintaining meet industry standards while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to OSHA, FDA, EPA and Local Government. The EMT primary role will be responsible to maintain, install, test and repair electrical systems. In addition, and not limited to maintaining and performing repairs and PMs to mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. The position will require a flexible schedule focusing on preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Follows work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment in an industrial environment.
- Complete a Maintenance Pre-Task Hazard Assessment, work orders and part requests.
- Must be able to communicate and understand safety issues, including reading the information on safety equipment and relaying relevant information to coworkers.
- Installed, and/or troubleshoot and repair Manufacturing equipment such as: assembly, conveyors, forming, mixing (Oven operations is a plus).
- Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test and make final adjustments for high-speed production equipment.
- Maintain equipment in accordance with diagrams and manufactures specifications while following preventative maintenance work orders and scheduled PM'S.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance duties on facility equipment, diagnose and repair malfunctions of Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Water piping systems, including pumps, valves, and cylinders.
- Perform various inspections and testing on plant systems, machinery and equipment.
- Common Troubleshooting and repair of AC / DC drives, PLC's, electrical systems to 480 volts, electrical equipment, plant machinery and plant equipment.
- Service and repair of production related electrical equipment including knowledge of power distribution and lighting systems, AC/DC motors and transformers, machine and line control devices, fluid control and distribution, electronic controls
- Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on general plant electrical equipment such as starters, start/stop stations, motors (up to 480V).
- Must have a working knowledge of basic electrical test apparatus such as multimeters and megohmmeters.
- Ability to demonstrate safe practices and tools for while working with low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and components.
- Must be able to prioritize and triage in a fast-paced work environment.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, and other appropriate equipment
- Maintain current GMP, Safety, Food Safety, & technical knowledge by actively participating in training.
- MUST BE OPEN TO ANY SHIFT.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
- Demonstrate good working knowledge of electrical diagrams and/or circuits and utilize during troubleshooting, and instrumentation, variable frequency drives, and basic PLC knowledge/ interpretation capabilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize items and be self-motivated.
- 2+ years of experience working in the food manufacturing industry.
- 4+ years of experience working as an experienced level maintenance mechanic.
- 2+ years of experience working as an Electrical technician
- PLC experience is a plus.
- Understand pneumatic and water systems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required. Complete working knowledge of the manufacturing process, typically resulting from a minimum of five years' experience in related jobs.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and energized equipment. The noise level in the work environment varies depending on tasks.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full Time Non-Exempt position 40 hour per week, and it may require working additional hours depending on business need requirements.
