Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and enhancing operational efficiency. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support manufacturing systems that meet Tarter's production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products.
- Create and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes, including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Assist in the selection and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
- Provide training and support to production personnel on new processes and technologies.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering role, preferably in the agricultural or related industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production methods.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
