About the Job
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and systems to ensure the manufacturability of new product designs from conceptualization to first production runs. The role also involves coordinating activities for redesigns, updates, and improvements to existing products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of design specifications for new and existing products.
- Oversee the development and execution of manufacturing programs, processes, and procedures.
- Direct the implementation of safety measures, design layouts, tooling, fixturing, and prototyping.
- Manage departments that support manufacturing operations.
- Support the implementation of product testing and quality assurance standards.
- Coordinate procurement activities for raw materials and component parts.
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
- Provide major project support across all areas as directed by senior management.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Process, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is highly desired; an Associate’s degree will be considered.
- 3-10 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing.
- Proficiency with BOMs, routings, and time and motion studies for setting standards.
- Experience with MRP/ERP planning and scheduling processes.
- Experience in implementing quality assurance programs and procedures.
- Familiarity with sampling and final inspection of finished products.
- Experience using calibration tools and instruments.
