About the Job
Florence Corporation, the nation's leading supplier of quality mailboxes, support and services is now hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join our successful Team. Florence Corporation is in the Residential division of Gibraltar Industries, Inc. The Manufacturing Engineer position has technical, manufacturing process, and design responsibilities that support the accomplishment of the manufacturing engineering roadmap, project objectives and goals. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
The successful Manufacturing Engineer candidate has technical expertise relating to production equipment and process control, including having knowledge of Toyota Production/Lean Manufacturing Systems, and relies on experience and judgment to plan for and accomplish project goals. We are looking for candidates who have experience delivering results through Manufacturing Technology Development and continuous improvement in manufacturing practices and processes.
This is an onsite position located in Manhattan, Kansas. At this time, sponsorship is not available.

What you'll do
- Engineering Projects and Personal Planning: Establish project budgets and timelines, setting goals and targets consistent with projects and work activities
- Manufacturing Technology Development: investigation and implementation of new and improved manufacturing processes that target the integration and deployment of automation in the facility to support annual continuous improvement goals
- Processes and Practices: Developing, training, and implementing standardized work processes and good engineering practices in support of achieving Operations / Manufacturing and project goals
- Getting results through problem solving: Identifying and solving problems on a broad scale (technical through manufacturing process) to achieve project and Operations goals
What you'll need to be successful
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years experience as an Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer preferred
- Solid Works, AutoCAD and Microsoft experience required
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Ability to complete accurate and thorough work that demonstrates technical excellence
- Deadline driven, self-starting mindset
