Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Ocala, FLResponsibilities:
- Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
- Develop machine arrangements within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
- Establish the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, impacting product performance.
- Adapt machine or equipment designs to factory and production conditions.
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan when necessary.
- Inspect the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency; investigate and initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
- Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and advance those techniques.
- Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
Key Duties:
- Create and standardize Next Generation manufacturing work instructions.
- Work in a factory setting with a multi-disciplined team.
- Support shop floor operators in various build processes, acquire feedback, and resolve work stoppages through hardware support, continuous improvement initiatives, defect disposition, and root cause analysis.
- Train supervisors, other engineers, and shop floor personnel in manufacturing processes.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings and/or requirement specification documents, and define manufacturing steps to meet all requirements.
- Conceptualize assemblies using mechanical aptitudes, including understanding material properties, heat transfer, and structural properties.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college, or related military experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of professional experience with a Master’s degree.
- Previous experience in manufacturing and lean principles.
- 3+ years of experience with Windchill Software.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
- 3+ years of Lean Six Sigma experience.
- 3+ years of technical writing experience, particularly in manufacturing work instructions.
