About the Job
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
- Work center focus to remove all non-value-added steps by providing (including but not limited to) documented process, required information, required tools, required components, logistics and required procedures.
- Utilize PDCA principle to validate and maintain all manufacturing processe.
- Provide production line support including, but not limited to, implementing process improvements, troubleshooting equipment, and addressing operator inquiries.
- Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures.
- Utilize LEAN, Six Sigma, and other best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Assist in identifying equipment needs on the production floor to include but not limited to: sourcing by supporting Purchasing department, installation of equipment, measuring ROI, and tracking/proving ROI data.
- Perform cost analysis of engineering projects assigned with the objective of reducing cost of manufacturing without impairment of quality.
- Work with supervisors to train operators how to manufacture products, proper material routing and handling methods, new equipment/fixture operation, troubleshooting and maintenance, among other areas as well as assist in investigating and solving production problems.
- Review all production order documentation for accuracy, including bill of materials and routings within the ERP System.
- Meet or exceed labor content and product cost standards utilizing good assembly methodologies and ergonomics
- Provide support in Line-Balance projects, Implementation of Kaizen
- Compare actual part usage on the floor to manufacturing Bill of Material and request the needed changes.
- Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems.
- Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies along with facility and production cell enhancements.
- Heavy on process flow and improvement of materials from WH or other org all the way to the work cell.
- Manage the flow of materials within a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Track inventory levels, monitor stock levels, and maintain accurate records of materials or products.
- Design, analyze, and optimize logistical processes to ensure the efficient movement of products.
- Optimize storage strategies to maximize space utilization and minimize inventory holding costs.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. This may involve identifying slow-moving or obsolete inventory, optimizing stock levels, and implementing strategies to minimize holding costs and maximize inventory turnover.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory records by promptly resolving discrepancies, implementing proper controls, and minimizing errors in data entry or processing.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience of 2+ years in manufacturing, heavy equipment manufacturing preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering discipline.
- Experience with process and equipment validation.
- AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred.
