1st Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 4:00am-2:30pm
2nd Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 2:00pm-1:00am

Location: Luzianne Tea Manufacturing Plant at 5601 Chef Menteur Highway

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Equipment Mechanic is responsible for safely troubleshooting, repairing and installing equipment within the manufacturing facility and ensuring that quality products are produced timely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of hand tools
• Troubleshoots and safely repairs basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and components
• Effectively prioritizes equipment issues in order of importance, manage downtime, and communicates issues to peers and leadership; escalates issues to experts or external resources as needed
• Utilizes Digital Production System (Redzone) to track assigned actions, updates peers, and communicates with departments
• Reads and interprets equipment drawings and OEM Manuals for packaging equipment
• Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications
• Accurately completes all work order and quality paperwork
• Must be flexible with weekly work schedule to troubleshoot and fix issues as they arise in a timely manner to allow production to meet business demands
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and maintenance shop
• Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training; maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; reports any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition
• Supports and complies with GMP’s; understands and follows emergency action plan
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Technical certification preferred
• 3+ years of manufacturing facility maintenance experience
• Basic technical skills include Mechanical, Troubleshooting, Pneumatics, Fluid Power, Hand Tools
• Basic electrical skills helpful
• Strong problem solving and analysis skills
• Self-directed team player with ability to communicate effectively and complete projects in a timely manner
• Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of rotating on Saturdays when needed
• Strong safety awareness
• Positive attitude with ability to follow rules and directions
