About the Job
Position Summary:
Group Leaders will have responsibilities to direct Team Leaders to obtain goals within the daily production activities while ensuring quality and on-time shipment of orders to the customer. Group Leaders will ensure daily goals are met, and oversee day-to-day operations in their designated area. Group Leaders will be expected to monitor safety, quality and enforce Toyota policies and procedures. Group Leaders will also be tasked with daily reports to Manufacturing Managers. Daily tasks include daily reports, production meetings, 4M change management & communication and overseeing the day-to-day activities in their responsible area all while promoting kaizen. Human development is an integral part of the Group Leader’s position, they will need to aid in developing associates as well as leaders within the area. Group Leaders will also aid in the creation of succession plans for all levels of leadership within manufacturing areas of responsibility.
Essential Position Duties:
* Ability to work in a safe and alert manner
* Ensure all related tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
* Maintain all necessary documentation related to quality and productivity within Manufacturing
* Must have positive and professional work ethic, respect for people, and be able to maintain company core values
* Safety, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction must be a main priority
* Embraces the Kaizen spirit of continuous improvement/change
* Any additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
* 2 year Technical Degree preferred or High school diploma / GED with 5 year’s relevant experience required.
* 3 years of Leadership experience (or comparable experience) in a high production, fast paced manufacturing environment.
* Results driven, able to use visual management tools to identify problems and implement improvements.
* Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
* Preferred background in the electrical / battery field

Individuals will be required to perform all job duties while walking and/or standing for extended periods of time on hard surfaces. The work for this position is very physical in nature with repetitive tasks. This means it is fast paced; you must be detail oriented. You must be able to stoop, bend, twist, turn, squat, reach, push, pull, grab or grasp. Proper lifting techniques are required and may include lifting up to 44.5 pounds.
Primary environment for this position is a warehouse/ factory environment. The Toyota shop floor is not climate controlled and internal temperatures will be relative to the external temperatures and temperature forecasts.
