Job Description
- Direct responsibility for engineering practices and best process capabilities in our production areas pertaining to Specialty Assembly, vitamin supplements. Develops, integrates and works with manufacturing on tooling and fixture design and implementation to production floor. Acts as continuous improvement coordinator for areas mentioned above. Reviews and signs off on new CORF's pertaining to these areas for best engineering practices. Participates in and works on special projects as needed pertaining to new process integration, new part and product integration, samples, prototypes for new customers. Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains both up to date Engineering and Quality standards and practices for products and processes under above responsibility. Responsible to help guide technical evaluations, improve process run rates and yields with process improvements for the above areas.
- Essential Functions:
- Area organization and product flow knowledge for above areas. - Understanding and control of all set up and shut down procedures for above process areas. -Understanding and set up of needed spare parts and preventive maintenance procedures for above process areas. - Helps Coordinate training activities for above process areas - Participates in Production coordination of materials and people based on review with manufacturing management team.
- -Coordinates samples and prototype parts based on new program startups interfacing with sales organization and end customers as needed.
- Participates in failure analysis and corrective action investigations. -Refines and enhances products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical areas of production.
- -Works direct with outside customers on new opportunities and engineering evaluations.
- -Interfaces with Sales Team and Business Development associates pertaining to new business opportunities and current process and engineering capabilities.
- Coordinator of continuous improvement items for each area above.
- Understands the working of E2 data base as to BOMS, Routs, process instructions and reporting.
- Develops Standard Work Instructions and Workmanship Standards as needed for production and manufacturing associates by part number. -Represents company by interfacing with customers for above process areas when needed.
- Develops and coordinates corrective action procedures and plans based on company corrective actions generated.
- -Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
