JOB SUMMARY:
This position is the front-line leader in our manufacturing industry for employees and provides the direction for them to exceed requirements is safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
The role is responsible for making sure that the employee completes their tasks and are motivated to work effectively. Shift supervisor skills include contributing to the production strategy by knowing the business goals and how to achieve them.
The supervisor is the primary point of contact for operators, adjusters, and maintenance; ready to fix problems that randomly arise.
The position’s success is based on maintaining the business reputation and ensuring daily duties are completed goals are met.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor or similar role
Full understanding of industry safety standards
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft software, such as Word and Excel
Manage daily schedules, employee shifts, and time-off requests
Assign duties to employees and oversee their progress
Ensure that daily sales/production goals are met
Train and integrate new workers
Provide guidance and feedback to employees when needed
Ensure industry rules and regulations are followed
Handle customer and employee complaints
Resolve conflicts between employees
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience meeting multiple deadlines
Multi-tasking experience
Experience working with a team to achieve time related goals
A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience required. Some college course work preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in communicating
Organizational Skills
Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, simple multiplication, and simple division
Thoroughness in following direction both spoken and written
Time management
Reliability in attendance and productivity
Driving accountability.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works in the manufacturing and warehouse setting, in an uncontrolled climate environment. This role routinely uses computers along with mechanical/electrical manufacturing and warehouse equipment.
